How the copy is made
There are a few ways to reproduce a car key blade, depending on the key and what information is available. A traditional edge-cut blade can be traced from your original. A laser-cut or sidewinder blade needs a machine that mills the track. Where a key code is available after ownership is verified, the blade can be cut to the code instead of copying wear from an old key.
Copying the electronics
For a key with a chip, the blade alone isn't enough. On some vehicles the chip can be copied from the original; on others the new key must be programmed to the vehicle as an additional key. Keys with buttons need the remote functions paired as well, and proximity keys need registration. I check which method your vehicle supports before starting.
