C-Class key overview
Modern C-Class models (W205 2015+ and W206 2022+) use Mercedes' proximity smart key with push-to-start and KEYLESS-GO. Earlier W203 and W204 generations use SmartKey infrared/RF fobs. All are chip-secured against hot-wiring, so a physical cut alone will not start the car — every replacement must be programmed to the vehicle's EIS/EZS module.
Key types for the C-Class
W206 / W205: KEYLESS-GO smart proximity key with panic, trunk, and lock/unlock. W204: 4-button SmartKey with panic. W203: SmartKey with mechanical emergency blade. We stock OEM and high-quality aftermarket shells and can transfer buttons and electronics into a new housing when the shell breaks but the electronics still work.
Smart keys and key fobs
C-Class smart keys pair to the EIS (Electronic Ignition Switch) module and cannot be swapped between vehicles. Falcon Locksmith programs new smart keys on-site using dealer-level equipment — no dealership tow, no waiting weeks for a rekeyed ECU.
Programming and lost-all-keys
When every key is lost, we originate a new key by pulling the EIS data, generating the required file, cutting the HU64/HU66 blade by code, and pairing the new smart key to the vehicle. Most all-keys-lost C-Class jobs finish on-site in 60–120 minutes.
Duplicate keys
Adding a spare when you still have a working key is faster and cheaper than an all-keys-lost job. We recommend every C-Class owner keep a second programmed key.
Emergency lockout
Locked out of your C-Class? We perform non-destructive entry — no scratched trim, no torn weather stripping. Most on-site lockouts are handled in 5–15 minutes after arrival.
Ignition issues
C-Class ignitions are electronic; symptoms like 'key won't turn' usually mean an EIS fault, a dead key battery, or a steering-lock ESL failure — not a mechanical cylinder problem. We diagnose on-site and can replace or repair the EIS/ESL module.
